マイセンはヨーロッパで初めて磁器製造に成功したブランドです。17世紀まで東洋の磁器の美しい肌は、ヨーロッパの王侯貴族の憧れでした。アウグスト強王より、東洋の磁器に匹敵するような白磁作りを厳命された錬金術師のベトガーは、1709年に待望の磁器製造に成功。1710年にはエルベ川のほとりのマイセン市に王立磁器製造工場が完成、ここにマイセンの歴史がはじまったのです。現在のマイセンは、過去の遺産である原型や資料を保管・伝承し、技術を守りつつ、歴史ある古典磁器を完全に再現しています。また、今を感じさせる新しいシリーズの創作にも取り組み、高い評価を得ております。
